Gausu Muhammad Boyi, a House of Representatives member representing Ringim and Taura Federal Constituency, on Monday narrowly escaped lynch by angry youth of his constituency.
An eyewitness, who claimed anonymity, told our correspondent that the incident happened in Dutse, the capital of the state, where the All progressive Congress, APC delegates were screened for the conduct of gubernatorial primary election.
He said that the irate youth bitterly protested at the lawmaker, chanting: “Bama yi, bama yi sai mun canza”, meaning we are not with you, we must change.
However, according to the eyewitness, Mr Boyi was on the verge of being beaten up before some security agents and good Samaritans intervened and whisked the lawmaker through the window.
“The angry youths tried to attack the lawmaker after he arrived at the venue to witness the mode of the exercise and the situation worsened when he gave them five thousand naira to shut their mouth and abandon their mission,” the eye witness disclosed.
According to them, the lawmaker had nothing to show the people of the area since he was elected as member representing Ringim and Taura constituency in the green chamber.
