The Jigawa State government said it would spend N900 million to sponsor 60 students to study of medicine in China.
Addressing newsmen on Friday, the state commissioner of Health, Dr Abba Umar, said the training becomes imperative in view of the dearth of medical personnel in the state.
He said arrangement had been for the take off of the students who were competitively selected from across the local governments of the state.
Dr Umar also said the state government would also sponsor another set of 200 students to study nursing in China.
He said Governor Badaru Abubakar made the decision to produce enough manpower required for the attainment of his “health for all” agenda.
