An appeal court sitting in Yola has declared Emmanuel Bwacha and Aisha Binani as the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Taraba and Adamawa states respectively.
The court set aside a ruling by the High Court nullifying their candidacy, ordering that their names be forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission as the APC governorship candidates for both states.
A Federal High Court sitting in Yola had in October nullified the APC primary that produced Mrs Binani as the party’s governorship candidate in the state, following a petition filed in by a former chairman of EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu.
Mr Ribadu, who came second during the exercise, had alleged that there we incidences of vote buying and illegal delegates list at the primary conducted on May 27, 2022.
