The national publicity secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Yekini Nabena, has called on people to disregard “fake documents making the rounds” that the party had cleared Uba Sani.

Speaking to DAILY NIGERIAN on Friday afternoon, Mr Nabena said the party only cleared Shehu Sani for the Kaduna Central ticket.

“Uba Sani stands disqualified. Any document regarding his clearance is fake. The only candidate APC cleared for Kaduna Zone 2 is Shehu Sani,” he said.

The crisis between Shehu Sani and Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, worsened in March when Senate rejected the state government’s request to obtain a $350m loan from the World Bank.

Upon Shehu Sani’s resolve to remain in the APC after assurances of automatic tickets by the party headquarters for senators who refused to defect PDP, Mr El-Rufai said the senator must apologize to people of the state for playing a role in quashing the loan request before they reverse his suspension from the party.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that APC’s disqualification of many aspirants has sparked protests and public outcry, with nine governors visiting President Muhammadu Buhari to lodge complaint on Thursday.

Reports have it that Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was also at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday to protest the exclusion of his anointed aspirant, Uba Sani.
