A retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Hamisu Ali-Jos has died Tuesday morning in an Indian hospital, a family source confirmed.
Mr Ali-Jos died at the age of 78, leaving behind a wife and six children.
A younger brother to late Ali-Jos, Hamza Ali, told DAILY NIGERIAN that the deceased had been in the Indian hospital receiving treatment since December 2019.

“From Allah we are and unto Him, we shall return. Our elder brother, former AIG Hamisu Ali, has reached his time, after protracted illness in a Hospital at India, where he was receiving treatment since December 2019,” he stated.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that late Ali-Jos was the sole administrator of Katsina State during the late Sani Abacha’s regime.
He was a retired AIG, where he served at Zone 2 in the year 1999.
He was also a one-time Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Police Command.
