The four kingmakers of Kano have begun a process of electing new emir, following the deposition of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II earlier today.
The kingmakers are Madakin Kano Yusuf Nabahani; Makaman Kano Sarki Ibrahim; Sarkin Dawakin Maituta Bello Abubakar and; Sarkin Bai Mukhtar Adnan.
After a few hour deliberations with the kingmakers at the government house, the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji announced the appointment Aminu Ado Bayero as the new emir.
The Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji announced the appointment during a meeting with the Kano kingmakers at the Government House.
The SSG said: “Following the resolution of the state executive Council at its emergency council meeting, I have been directed by his Excellency, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, based on the provision of section 11 (1) of the Kano State Emirate Law 2019. Based on the recommendation of the executive council,”
“I hereby announcing Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the former emir of Bichi as the new emir if Kano.”
