A member of staff at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mustapha Sulaiman-Hunkuyi, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen Wednesday night.
The banker is a son of a former senator representing Kaduna North, Sulaiman Hunkuyi.
Confirming the abduction to DAILY NIGERIAN, Dauda Hunkuyi, a brother to the former senator, said the gunmen had contacted them and made a huge ransom demand.
He, however, did not disclose the amount demanded by the kidnappers.
Although the abduction was said to have taken place along Abuja-Lokoja road, family sources, however, told DAILY NIGERIAN that Mr Sulaiman-Hunkuyi was kidnapped along Katsina-Kano road.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that there had been a spate of kidnapping along major highways in the country.
In the last few months, hundreds of Nigerians were kidnapped and a huge amount of ransom must have been paid before the victims could regain their freedom.
