Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi west, has just been admitted into Zankili Medical Center, Mabuchi, in the federal capital territory, FCT.
The embattled senator was taken to the hospital after sustaining various degrees of injuries while attempting to escape Police custody.
The hospital ambulance brought him to the hospital around 4:25 pm, after which he was admitted to the emergency unit.
There were no security operatives when he arrived.
Recall that a fracas was reported between suspected thugs loyal to the embattled Senator who are bent on whisking him to safety from the fully armed Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
The drama, which began at 2.10 pm at the popular Area 1 roundabout Abuja, lasted for about six minutes.
The suspected thugs who were in two Hilux pick up double-crossed the police escort and jerked up Mr Melaye and threw him into one of the vans and speed off.
