Following the presentation of Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, the Senate President Ahmad Lawan has sworn-in the senator-elect.

The newly elected Senate President Ahmad Lawan, on Thursday, performed his first plenary assignment by swearing-in Mr Okorocha, who will be representing Imo West in the National Assembly.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the swearing-in ceremony took place shortly after the Senate had taken the prayers, approval of votes and proceedings at plenary.

Mr Okorocha took the Oath of Office at the chamber at about 10:39 am and, thereafter, signed the necessary documents.
