Matthew B. Seiyefa is to act as the Director General of the Department of State Security.

This followed the sack of Lawal Daura by acting President Yemi Osinbajo following the siege on the National Assembly laid by security agents on Tuesday.

The new appointment was confirmed by the president in its Twitter handle @NGRPresident on Tuesday.

It affirmed that “Matthew B. Seiyefa, the most senior Director in the Department of State Services (DSS), will act as Director-General until further notice.”

Mr Osinbajo had earlier directed that the sacked Mr Daura should handover to the most senior DSS personnel.
