A witness representing president Muhammadu Buhari at the ongoing Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has confirmed that there are typographic errors in Mr Buhari’s name and the number of subjects he sat for at the Cambridge certificate examination.

The witness, Oshideinde Adewumi-Henry, stated this on Wednesday in Abuja during cross-examination by the head of defense team for the petitioners, Levi Uzuegu.

Mr Adewunmi said: “The president’s name, spelt as ‘Muhammadu’ was wrongly spelt on his Cambridge certificate as ‘Mohamed’.

The witness who had worked with the WAEC for over 30 years also confirmed that the President sat for a total number of eight subjects in the 1961 WAEC, of which six were stated.

He also noted that, of the eight subjects the President sat for, he had five credits.

The list of subjects passed by Mr Buhari, according to the witness, are Oral English C5, History A3, Geography C6, Hausa C5 and Health Science C6.

When asked to confirm whether the exhibit used is a certificate, Mr Adewunmi said no.

“I cannot confirm this as a certificate, but rather a foundation without which no candidate can have a WAEC certificate,” he added.

However, speaking during his examination by the APC lawyer, Lateef Fagbemi, Mr Adewunmi said Mr Buhari sat for the WAEC examinations with 17 other candidates in which he appears second on the list.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Buhari’s educational qualification had caused a lot of ruckus for which the PDP is demanding for the cancellation of the President’s victory at the just concluded 2019 Presidential Election.

However, Mr Buhari, through his lawyers, had insisted that he is well educated and had always proven his wealth of education in the various speeches he had delivered in English.
