The Kano State Executive Council has approved the renaming of Kano University of Science and Technology, KUST, Wudil, after billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote.
The state commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, revealed this in a statement on Saturday.
He said the development followed recommendation by the university’s visitation panel.
According to Mr Garba, the institution had now been renamed to Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, ADUST, Wudil.
He explained that the approval had been transmitted to the state House of Assembly to study the relevant laws establishing the university for amendment.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the state university was established in the first tenure of the former governor of the state, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
