The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has defeated his major opponent, Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the LG is the hometown of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, a closest ally of Mr Ganduje.
Announcing the results at INEC headquarters in Kano on Sunday, the returning officer, Prof. Adamu Jibril, declared that Mr Kwankwaso got 25,072 votes, while the APC scored 16,773 votes.
Mr Jibril added that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, polled 2,477 votes while Labour Party got 202 votes.
