Kaduna deputy governor-elect Hadiza Balarabe chairs El-Rufai’s transition committee

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved the constitution of a transition committee to prepare the groundwork for his next government, which begins on May 29 2019.

In a statement by Samuel Aruwan, the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, to the governor on Tuesday stated that the 2019Transition Committee is to be chaired by the Deputy Governor-elect of the state, Hadiza Balarabe.

The governor also called on all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Kaduna State Government to prepare their handover notes and commence briefing the committee with immediate effect.

According to the statement, the transition committee, which would be inaugurated after a week, has Balarabe Abbas-Lawal, the Secretary to the State Government, as Vice-Chairman and Muyiwa Adekeye, the Special Adviser- Media & Communication, as Secretary.

The committee includes APC State Chairman Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, the two APC senators-elect from Kaduna State, Suleiman Abdu-Kwari, Uba Sani, and Zainab Ahmed, the acting Minister of Finance.

Other members include Idris Othman, Husaini Adamu Dikko, a past president of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors, and Charles Bonat, a former SSG of Kaduna State who retired as a federal Permanent Secretary.

Also on the list are Hafsat Mohammed Baba, Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Development, Prof. Kabir Mato, Commissioner for Local Government and Muhammad Sani-Abdullahi, the Commissioner, Planning and Budget Commission, who is also a member of the World Bank’s Advisory Council on Citizen Engagement.

The committee also includes APC Kaduna Campaign DG Ben Kure, Campaign Director of Organisation, Muhammad Sani-Bello and former DG of NEMA, Muhammad Sani-Sidi.

Others on the list included Muhammad Bayero, Special Adviser-Intergovernmental Relations, ICT expert Nuradeen Maidoki, Stella Amako, senior APC member, Umma Aboki, Executive Secretary of KADIPA, are also on the committee.
