The Kaduna State government has announced the appointment of a new Head of Service, following the retirement of Alisabatu Dada-Onazi.
Mrs Dada-Onazi retired from the Civil Service of the state on December 31, 2016 after attaining the maximum 35 years of service.
Consequently, Mrs Bariatu Yusuf Mohammed, who is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, was appointed as the new Head of Service.
A statement by the governor’s spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, said the governor on behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State thanked the outgoing Head of Service for the meritorious and exemplary service she rendered to the state.
The governor commends her hard work and foresight in facilitating the on-going reforms in the state’s public service and her resilience towards the success of the Staff Verification Exercise.
While wishing her a successful life after retirement and the best in all her future endeavours, he said the verification exercise she facilitated marked a turning point in revitalizing the state’s public service.
The new head of service, who hailed from Birnin-Gwari Local Government area, joined the Kaduna State Civil Service on 7th August, 1984 and rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary on 1st April, 2012.
Previous positions held by the new Head of Service prior to this appointment are: Permanent Secretary Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service and; Permanent Secretary Bureau of Establishments, Management Services and Training.
Mrs Mohammed is married with children.
