The governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has assured members of the National Youth Service Scheme, NYSC, of their safety and welfare.
The governor gave the assurance during the swearing in ceremony of the Batch A stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp Kaduna on Tuesday.
Mr Sani said the state government would continue to collaborate with relevant security operatives in ensuring that all residents of the state, including corps members, sleep with their two eyes closed.
The governor, who was represented by the commissioner, Human Services and Social Development, Rabi Salisu, commended the management of the scheme for promotion of national integration and development.
He also urged them not to relent in fostering national unity and cohesion among Nigerians.
While reminding the corps members of the absence of white collar jobs, the state coordinator NYSC, Kaduna, Hassan Taura, urged them to take advantage of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED training programme to enable them to become self-reliant.
“These young, energetic Nigerians are well prepared to take their Oath of Allegiance today to fully qualify them as corps members and prepare them for the tasks ahead”, Mr Taura said.
