The Kaduna State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with Hebei Province in the People’s Republic of China for exchanges and cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
A statement by Governor Uba Sani’s chief press secretary, Muhammad Lawal-Shehu, said areas of interest in the MoU included solid minerals, science and technology, energy, transportation, agriculture, and infrastructure.
According to the statement, Mr Sani assured the government of Hebei Province of his administration’s commitment to the effective implementation of the MoU.
He added that the MOU would not only strengthen cooperation, friendship, and mutual understanding between Hebei Province and Kaduna State, but also impact positively on the state’s economy and the lives of the citizens.
In her remarks, the Vice Governor of the Hebei Province, Jin Hui, acknowledged the abundant mineral deposits in Kaduna State, such as nickel, lithium, and gold.
While commending the state government for its giant strides in the areas of agriculture, health care, and infrastructure, Ms Hui assured the total commitment of the Province towards the actualization of the MoU.
The statement explained that the Chinese foreign affairs office will represent the Hebei Province, while the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, KADIPA, shall represent the state government.
