The re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the just concluded general elections had triggered reactions in the Hausa film industry, Kannywood.
Many of the Actors and Actresses of the industry that participated in the political rallies of both President Muhammadu Buhari and his main opponent, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar took their reactions to social media on Wednesday.
The King of the Kannywood industry, Ali Nuhu on his verified Instagram page ‘realalinuhu’, congratulated Buhari on the success and prayed for God’s support to accomplish additional four years.

Another famous actor, Sadiq Sani on his page saddiqsanisaddiq, decried the way they were mocked by their counterparts that supported the opposition.
He expressed gratitude to God for the success of the party he supported, and prayed to God to guide the President.
In his own reaction, Tamam Sha’aban on his page tyshaban wrote “Everyone has witnessed how we stood by what we believed in and we believe in destiny, we congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari.”
Sha’aban was among the Kannywood Actors that took part in active and social media campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the 2019 elections.
A renowned Film Director, Falalu Dorayi, told the News Agency of Nigeria that he was extremely happy with the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He expressed optimism that the administration would repay their efforts by giving more support to the industry.
Sadiya Kabala, a female actress on her Instagram page realsadiyakbl, sent a video crying of joy and offering prayers for God’s protection for PMB.
While other Kannywood stars kept mute about the re-election, another actor Umar Gombe, on his page umargombe, expressed happiness over Buhari’s success and prayed for long life to enable him to deliver on the second term successfully.
NAN reports that Kannywood splitted into two during the Presidential Campaigns and Rallies as some supported the All Progressives Congress while others backed the Peoples Democratic Party.
