The Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday withdrew invitation letter extended to the wives of Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi, those of the late Emir Ado Bayero and some officials of the Kano Emirate Council.
The commission had earlier invited are one of the wives Emir Sanusi, Maryam Sanusi; 93-year-old Sarkin Bai and District Head of Dambatta, Mukhtar Adnan; 92-year-old Jarman Kano, Professor Isa Hashim; 84-year-old Dan Iyan Kano, Yusuf Bayero.
Others invited by the commission are two widows of the late emir of Kano, Ado Bayero. They are Binta Ado Bayero and Hadiza Ado Bayero.
Also invited by the commission are Ma’ajin Watari, Abba Ahmed; former Dan Iyan Kano and uncle to the current emir, Ado Sanusi; Dan Ruwatan Kano, Ibrahim Ado Bayero and; Sallaman Kano, Aminu Dako.
DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the emirate council lawyers have written to the commission, drawing its attention of the subsisting order of the Federal High Court, Kano.
But in withdrawing the letter of invitation, said it invited the emir’s wife and other officials in error.
“Kindly be inform (sic) that, the commission did not know any person among the invited personalities only (sic) acting on a document of a medical trip which does not contained (sic) any referral letter to the Nigerian Hospital to the designated hospitals as well as any evidence suggesting the travel as supporting document to support the claim. We equally suspect that the expenditures are none (sic) existence (sic) due to the fact that the Emirate Council failed to cooperate with us to provide information that will help to avoid all this mix-up.
“In view of the foregoing, the commission decided to withdraw the earlier invitation No. CR:PCACC/DOPS/15/2019/VOL.I/030 of 17th June 2019 and urge the council to provide us with the following information pursuant to Section 31 of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission Law 2018 (as amended) :-
“(i) All the referred letters for medical assistance given to individual from the fund (if any).
“(ii) Evidences of admission/attendance in the designated hospital oversees (sic).”
