Kano APM governorship candidate to prioritise security, health

Ibrahim Yakasai, the governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Kano, has promised to pay special attention to security, health and education if elected governor.
Mr Yakasai, a retired major-general, told journalists on Saturday in Kano that electricity, water, agriculture and job creation would also get some attention if he is elected.
He promised to support security agencies with required modern gadgets to perform optimally.
He promised to procure modern farming implements and distribute same across the state to boost all-year farming.
He said that modern farming inputs for rural dwellers would ensure massive  food production with many youths getting involved in positive ventures.
He said that efforts would be made to end perennial water scarcity in the state, especially the metropolitan city.
He promised to revamp the education sector through provision of conducive teaching and learning environment.
He promised to set up skill acquisition centres to train young people in various trades to make them self-reliant.
He appealed to Kano voters to look out for credible candidates on March 11 so as to install the right government and have quality house of assembly members.
“We have made ourselves available to serve our people to the best of our ability; we want the people to give us the opportunity to serve,” he said.
Mr Yakasai urged the people to avoid  electoral violence and vote APM candidates in the March 11 polls.
