Kano State House of Assembly has approved Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s request to obtain N15 billion loan to fund the state’s policy on free and compulsory education in the 44 local government areas of the state.
The Assembly approved the request on Wednesday during its plenary session presided over by the Speaker Abdulazeez Gafasa, following a submission of a report by the chairman of the House Committee on Local Governments, Deputy Majority Leader Kabiru Hassan-Dashi.

While recommending the request for approval, the committee said the fund would be used for the construction of more classes and rehabilitation of many others.
Mr Hassan-Dashi further explained that the loan will support the provision of free uniforms for the students and also enhance the school feeding initiative by the state government.
After deliberations by the legislators, the Assembly adopted the motion and approved the request.
