The Kano State House of Assembly has invited the embattled Chairman of the state complaint and anti-corruption commission, Muhuyi Magaji-Rimingado to appear before its ad-hoc committee investigating a petition against him.

The Assembly had suspended the chairman for one month to pave way for the investigation.

Mr Muhuyi’s replacement had since been announced by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

DAILY NIGERIAN had exclusively reported Mr Ganduje’s plot to remove the anti-corruption boss, following probe into contracts suspected to be awarded to the governor’s family.

Issuing an invitation letter to Mr Rimingado, signed on Monday by the Deputy Director, Legal Services Committee Secretary, Abdullahi A. Bature, the lawmakers directed Mr Rimingado submit himself at the Assembly’s Conference Hall on Wednesday by 12:00 noon.

  1. This is absurd, the documents they are demanding are not warehoused at his personal residence but his former office. While he must be aware of whatever happened under his watch, there is no way he can provide the record of the office from 2015 to date while out of office. The request should be made to his former office while he can be asked to clarify the information therein.
