The Kano State Censorship Board says it has began moves to obtain soft loans for Kannywood film and music industry.
Malam Sani Tanko, the board’s Director of Publication disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Kano.
Tanko said that the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ismail Naabba stated this while receiving a delegation from Zanith Bank in his office in Kano.
According to him, Kano film and music industry presently operates modern technology and this attracts funds and expertise.
The executive secretary revealed that with support and availability of funds, the industry would be able to compete with developed entertainment industries across the globe.
Naabba expressed the State Government’s readiness to assist the film makers and musicians to enhance their creativity.
Earlier, the leader of the Zenith Bank delegation, Malam Buba Yero, said the bank was ready to ease the process of accessing loans for the creative artistes.
Yero said that with the bank’s support through the loan, the industry could be driven to greater heights.
