Kano chairmen-elect get certificates of return, list priorities

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC, on Sunday presented certificates of return to the chairmen-elect of the 44 local governments in the state, marking the conclusion of the electoral process.

Its chairman, Sani Malumfashi, expressed gratitude to the security agencies, media, traditional and religious leaders for their support throughout the exercise.

He said, ”We have provided a political platform that paved the way for the commission to conduct a free,fair credible election.”

Sa’adatu Yushau-Tudunwada, the chairperson-elect for Tudun Wada Local Government, promised equitable and unbiased treatment to her constituents regardless of party affiliations.

Her colleague for Fagge Local Government, Salisu Masu, highlighted concerns about revenue shortages due to leakages, vowing to address the issue, with a view to ramping up internal revenue generation.
