A Kano State Chief Magistrate Court has ordered the Commissioner of Police to investigate the duo of Abdulwahab Suleiman and Jibrilla Muhammad, managing directors of Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority, KNUPDA, and Kano State Investment and Property Limited respectively.
The court ordered the investigation, following allegations of theft, criminal trespass and mischief leveled against them by some 188 shop owners of the Kano Bompai New Market.
In a written complaint sighted by this paper and made pursuant to various sections Administration of Criminal Justice Law of the state, counsel to the complainants, Abba Hikima, prayed the court to take cognizance of the offences allegedly committed by the two managing directors.

Mr Hikima said the duo had conspired to perpetrate illegality by mischievously demolishing thousands of his clients’ shops and carting away remnants of the construction material like doors and rods.
According to the lawyer, investigation had shown that the items had been sold to a Kano-based company known as Koguna and Sons Nig. Ltd.
It may be recalled that in a different case, the Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Sunusi Ma’aji had on October 12 restrained the two government agencies from demolishing the shops of the complainants.
The agencies however flouted the order.
