The Kano Road and Traffic Agency, KAROTA, has banned the movement of commercial tricycles, popularly known as Adaidaita Sahu, on some of the major roads in the state.
The KAROTA spokesman, Nabulusi Abubakar, in a statement on Tuesday, said the ban will take effect from Wednesday, November 30.
According to him, the rickshaw riders are banned from plying Ahmadu Bello Way by Mundubawa Road to Gezawa and Tal’udu Road to Gwarzo.
Mr Abubakar noted that the action followed the state government’s deployment of 100 ultra-modern buses and 50 taxis on these major roads.
While stressing that the buses were provided in order to enhance transportation in the state, the KAROTA spokesperson said the state government would also announce tricycle operations on other roads in the state.
