Kano professionals of different backgrounds living in Europe and America have sent a solidarity message to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state, over forthcoming supplementary election.
A statement by Mr Ganduje’s spokesman, Abba Anwar, said the professionals, under the aegis of Kano Professionals Guide, sent the message in a letter dated March 15, and signed by Abdullahi Sani-Malam.
“Before we send this important letter, as bonafide Kano citizens, we conducted research and became satisfied that all we need to do, is to put our support for your second coming Your Excellency Sir,” Mr Anwar quoted the letter.
“For them, the re-run election taking place on the 23rd of this month, they maintained and assured that Kano people are sensible and desirous of the continuation of the good policies and programmes which the administration of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje depicts”.
According to the letter, the hundreds of Kano citizens residing in Europe and America, resolved to garner more support to Mr Ganduje through their families and friends, who are living in the areas affected by the re-run election.
“It is on record that, governor Ganduje moves our state forward. And we shall remain focused and committed to this show of good governance. Which our dear governor symbolizes.
“Since when the election was declared inconclusive, we came to realise that, it was Allah who saves the state from being trapped,” the letter read.
“We have been engaging in one strategy or the other in trying to see that Ganduje emerges victorious. We are glad and encouraged to note that, the governor remains optimistic and focused for winning this election.”
