The Kano State Shari’a Commission has married off two Muslim converts, sponsored their wedding; bought their beds, other furniture and kitchen utensils.
Auwal Lamido, Director, Administration and General Service at the Commission, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Kano that the commission also resolved seven cases bordering on leadership tussles in mosques and Islamic schools in two months.
According to the director, the cases were resolved in March and April.
Mr Lamido urged members of the public to ensure they imbibed good morals and have the fear of God in their dealings.
The Commission was established in 2001 as the Bureau for Islamic Social Affairs, but was elevated to the Sharia Commission on Nov. 7, 2003.
Its function is to promote, enforce and develop Islamic and cultural values in the state.
