The influential First Lady, who popularly known as Goggo, stated this at a function in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State on Saturday, saying Murtala Garo is the ideal person.

Mr Garo is the present commissioner for Local Governments in the state.

Addressing government officials and beneficiaries of an empowerment programme, the First Lady said Mr Garo possessed all attributes of the person that Mr Ganduje wants as his successor.

She added that what she had seen in Mr Garo during the trip had made her satisfied that he is the ideal successor of her husband come 2023.

She said, “These Local Government Chairmen were carefully selected because the governor said he doesn’t want to see incompetent chairmen.

“What the governor wants is educated, agile, and hardworking young men to steer the affair of our Local Governments. He also wants hardworking youths to succeed him.

“I remember, while on a short trip. At all the time… He is here listening to me, in every battle, there has to be a Commander (Mr Garo nickname) had spent sleepless nights. I swear to God, he didn’t sleep because he was working hard to discharge his responsibility as a commissioner. I hope, you chairmen are listening to me? You are hearing this from Goggo’s mouth.
