Vice-Chancellor of the Kano State University of Science and Technology, KUST, Wudil, Shehu Alhaji-Musa, said on Thursday that the institution would soon establish Faculties of Medicine, Pharmaceutical and Veterinary Sciences.
Mr Alhaji-Musa disclosed this in Wudil on assumption his second tenure as the Vice Chancellor of the university.
According to him, the establishment of the three faculties would contribute to the advancement of science and technology in the country.
“I assure you that very soon the Pharmaceutical and Veterinary Sciences faculties would be established.
“We are hoping that the faculty of medicine will commence it in the next four years,” he said.
He added that the establishment of the faculty of veterinary medicine would complement the
Federal Government’s efforts in reviving the agricultural sector through animal husbandry.
The vice chancellor said the faculty would also assist in ensuring food security in Nigeria.
Mr Alhaji-Musa assured the staff and students that his administration would provide the necessary facilities for duty performance and learning in the university.
He also reiterated his commitment to ensure the welfare of the staff in order to encourage them to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
The vice chancellor however, appealed to the staff to continue to give him support to perform well.
