The Kano State Road and Traffic Agency, KAROTA, has arrested nine suspects for alleged possession of intoxicants and dangerous weapons.
This is contained in a statement by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar-Kofar Na’isa on Tuesday in Kano.
Abubakar-Kofar Na’isa said that officers of the agency on night patrol apprehended the suspects around 1.30 a.m. under the Dangi Bridge in Gyadi-Gyadi, Kano.
“They were found lying under the bridge then we asked them questions on their mission, we recovered different kinds of intoxicant and dangerous weapons in their possession.
“When interrogated them and found out that they came from Katsina and Zamfara,” he said.
The spokesperson said that the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigations.
He said that the Managing Director, KOROTA, Baffa Dan’agundi, commended the personnel for the feat.
He advised residents to always report any suspicious movement in their environment to security agents for action.
