Kebbi discharges 4 more COVID-19 patients

Kebbi State Government says it has discharged four additional COVID-19 patients at the Isolation Centre in Kebbi Medical Centre, Kalgo.

Ja’afar Muhammed, Chairman of the State Task Force on COVID-19, made this known while briefing newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.

Mr Muhammed said that the patients were discharged after they fully recovered from the virus and tested negative to the virus.

“With the four newly discharged patients, the total number of discharged cases in the state has now reached five,” he said.

Mr Muhammed expressed happiness that, after the patients were isolated for two weeks, the first and second investigations conducted on them came out negative.

“We commend all the medical personnel and the patients for their patience during their isolation period.

“We also thank God for their recovery, as well as subsequent integration back to their families and the society,” he said.

The discharged patients were three males and one female.

Recall that on May 11, the state announced the discharge of the first index case after he had tested negative and was integrated into society.
