Officers and men of the Delta State Police Command have rescued the abducted priest of Emmanuel Catholic Church, Aragba/Oviri-Okpe in Okpe Local Government Area of the State, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ogaga who was released unhurt by his abductors.

The Police also arrested some suspects in connection with the alleged abduction of the cleric.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the release of the priest in a chat with Daily Post.

Mr Mustafa said the Catholic priest was rescued along the Eku/Abraka expressway in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

He disclosed that the suspected kidnappers are now being investigated, stressing, “that they will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.”

Mr Mustafa noted that Rev. Fr. Christopher Ogaga has been reunited to the Emmanuel Catholic Church as well as his immediate family.

The President of Urhobo Progress Union,UPU, Youth Wing, Nicholas Omoko commended the Delta State Police Command for rescuing Rev.Fr. Christopher Ogaga.

Mr Omoko who spoke through his Media Aide, Freedom Davidson Onajiteh Okeh said the police should ensure that the arrested suspects be prosecuted so as to serve as a deterrent to others within the area.
