Armed kidnappers have broke into houses in Wusasa area of Zaria city in the early hours of Sunday and abducted six people.
DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the kidnappers began the operation past midnight and initially left with eight people.
Confirming the incident, the community leader of Wusasa, Isyaku Yusufu, said the kidnappers broke into the victim’s houses while sleeping peacefully and went away with them.
“It was around 10 minutes past midnight when they started the operation. They initially abducted eight people, but minutes later they asked a 15-year-old old to carry a 4-year-old girl back home,” he said.
Spokesman for Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, did not respond to our reporter’s call at the time of fling this report.
Residents of Zaria city and environs are suffering from raids of kidnappers, who either waylay travellers or force themselves into houses to abduct people.
On November 8, thirteen employees of Zaria Local Government were abducted by gunmen while traveling in a bus around Giwa area.
They were released 20 days later after payment of N40m ransom.
On December 14, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Giwa West, Rilwanu Gadagau, was killed by bandit terrorists in Zaria.
He was abducted at Dindin Rauga on the outskirt of Zaria, along the busy Kaduna-Zaria Road.
