Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, appoints “right hand man” Chief of Staff

Hours after taking oath of office as governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has announced his first appointments.
In a release he personally signed on Wednesday Governor Bello announced Edward Onoja as the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Onoja hails from Ogugu in Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state.
He has risen to management positions in several companies in both the financial and oil and gas sectors of the economy.
Bello had referred Onoja as his “right hand man” while delivering his inaugural speech.
The governor also announced the appointment of Abdulkarim Abdulmalik as Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Governor.
Prior to this appointment, Abdulmalik, who hails from Ihima in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, is a seasoned journalist, social media expert and media consultant.
The new governor also appointed Kingsley Fanwo as Chief Press Secretary to The Governor.
Before the appointment, Famwo, who hails from Takete Ide Amuro in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State, worked as a newspaper correspondent.
The appointments are with immediate effect.
The governor congratulated the appointees and demanded “utmost commitment and humble service to Kogi State from them”.
