Kwara and Niger states are set to strengthen existing collaborations to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties in the two states.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Political Communication, Bashir Adigun.
Mr AbdulRazaq, in the statement, expressed concern with reports of the degradation of Multi-Billion Naira natural endowments by criminals in parts of Baruten Local Government.
He stated that he would reach out to his Niger state counterpart for maximum security collaboration to put an end to such criminal activities.
According to the governor, Kwara and Niger accounted for 60 per cent of Shea butter production in the country.
Mr AbdulRazaq also noted that deforestation activities by some criminals in parts of the state constituted serious danger to the preservation of natural endowments.
The governor who lamented the increasing exportation of firewood and charcoal from the state, stressed that the state government would deepen mass enlightenment on the use of gas in place of firewood and charcoal to protect the forest.
