There was outpour of tears and eulogies as the Kano State director of State Security Service, SSS, Abdullahi Charanchi was buried in his Charanchi hometown in Katsina.
His colleagues, friends and family members described the departed security officer as “intelligent, kind, generous, diplomatic and humble” person who discharged his duties professionally.
Late Charanchi, 55, died on Saturday at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano after complaining of stomach pains in the early hours of the day.
The deceased began serving as state director in 2003, and served in Plateau, Kwara, Edo, Ogun and Kano commands.
He also briefly served as the chief security officer to late President Umaru ‘Yar Adua before he was replaced with Yusuf Tilde.
He is survived by a wife and six children.
