A famous Kannywood actress, Maryam Booth, has sued her ex-lover, Ibrahim Ahmed Rufai for allegedly leaking to the public nude video of her without her consent.

Recall a few weeks ago, social media became agog over the surfacing of a nude video showing the actress in an unclad manner, a development that triggered reactions and condemnation.

Days after the video went viral, the estranged actress broke her silence, pointing accusing fingers toward the direction of her ex-lover who is popularly known as Dinzell.

Ms Booth, thereafter, vowed to take legal action against the ex-lover for betraying her trust.

In a suit filed on February 27 at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Ms Booth claimed that Mr Rufai had recorded the said nude video without her consent on February 27, 2017 in her hotel room at Nanet Suit Hotel, Abuja.

Thereafter, according to her, the defendant began to threaten her over the said video, claiming that he would blackmail her if certain money was not paid to him.

She added that when she called his bluff, Mr Rufai went ahead and post the nude video on Twitter and other social media platforms.

Ms Booth, therefore, urged the court to order Mr Rufai to restrain from further posting of the nude videos on Twitter and other social media platforms.

The actress also prayed the court to declare that the unauthorised videoing of her by Mr Rufai amounted to invasion of her privacy, as well as declaration that doing so amounted to defamation of her character.

Consequently, the court, she prayed, should force Mr Rufai to pay to her the sum of N300million as exemplary and general damages for defaming her character.
