No life lost in Nigerian Army depot Zaria fire incident – Spokesman

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Army Depot, Zaria, Capt. Abdu Arigu, has confirmed the fire outbreak at the depot, saying that there was no loss of life in the incident.

Recall that there was a reported incident of fire outbreak at the depot which occurred at 9.30p.m. Saturday night.

Confirming the report to newsmen in Zaria on Sunday, Mr Arigu said the fire destroyed the last floor of a two-storey building.

He, however, said that there was no casualty, saying: “There was no loss of life to the incident.

“Combined efforts of fire fighters at the Nigeria Military School and Kaduna State Fire Service brought the situation under control,” Mr Arigu added.

According to him, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire with a view to forestalling a similar occurrence.
