Some living Faith Church Pastors have dragged the church before a Federal Capital Territory High Court for ‘wrongful’ accusation of conspiracy and theft.
The pastors, through Adamu Ahmed Ibrahim and Co-Chambers, are demanding N200 million damages and public apology for wrongful accusation and detention for six days over an offence they knew nothing about.
“We were invited to Goshen on the pretence that we have a meeting but to our surprise, we were taken to the police station from the church where we spent over six days before we were bailed out,” one of the pastors said.
Counsel to the plaintiffs, Barrister Innocent Lagi said his clients have filed a suit before the Federal capital territory High court for the unlawful detention of his clients and breach of their fundamental human right.
Mr Lagi said that the detention of his clients for over six days without trial is an infringement on their human right.
He, therefore, said that his clients have suffered psychological trauma due to unlawful detention.
“The pastors, led by Fred Yough of the living faith church, Sisinbaki in Wamba local government area of Nasarawa state were taken to the police station for the offence they never committed and wrongfully accused them of conspiracy, theft.
“A result they spend over six days in detention which breached their fundamental human right,” Mr Lagi disclosed.
However, when contacted, the state pastor, Muyiwa James, said he was not aware of the matter.
