MAAUN remains committed to achieving academic excellence — Prof. Gwarzo

The Founder and President MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar-Gwarzo on Monday reassured parents that the university remains committed to providing quality education for academic excellence.

Mr Gwarzo gave the assurance during the 2023/2024 Freshmen Matriculation Dinner where the newly admitted students, management staff and other invited guests dined together.

“I want to assure parents that MAAUN remains committed to academic excellence and will continue to ensure provision of quality education to enable its graduates compete favourably with other graduates across the world,” Prof. Gwarzo said.

He disclosed that MAAUN Nigeria has just been ranked as the 4th private university in Nigeria by AD Scientific Index ranking 2024. AD Scientific Index is one of the best rankings for Scientists in the world.

He said the international university ranking body has also ranked MAAUN Niger as the best private university and second overall in Niger Republic.

Mr Gwarzo said the two universities would continue to do their best in order to enable them to emerge as the best universities in Nigeria and beyond.

He, however, charged the new students to remain focussed by facing their studies with seriousness to enable them to actualize their dream in life.

During the dinner, seven prominent Artists/singers were invited to infuse energy and entertainment into the event which was held at the popular Afficent Event Centre located on Magaji Rumfa road in Kano metropolis.

Among the Artists that engaged the audience with their breathtaking vocal performances and exceptional talent at the event include Ado Gwanja, Ali Jita, Auta Waziri, Namenj, Nura M. Inuwa, Hamisu Breaker and Maryam Sandangali.

Through their artistry, the artists who deployed soothing background melodies to get all attendees on their feet, created cherished memories for both students and staff of the university.

In his closing remark, the Director, Linkages and Collaboration, Dr. Bala Mohammed Tukur thanked all those who graced the occasion from within and outside the State.

He specifically appreciated the traditional title holder of Sarkin Samarin Agega, Alhaji Ibrahim Iro Tafida and his entourage for physically attending the dinner.

In their separate remarks, a cross section of students who spoke at the occasion, commended the Founder and other management staff of the University for organizing the special dinner.

Among the management staff that graced the dinner were the Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University, Kaduna, Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Sabo, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Administration, MAAUN- Maradi, Dr. Shu’aibu Usman Tanko.

Also in attendance were Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro and Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba among others..
