The Police on Wednesday brought Kogi Senator, Dino Melaye to a Magistrate Court in Abuja.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Melaye was brought into the court on a stretcher by police officers who prevented journalists from coming close to him.
Security officers stopped vehicular and human movement in the court vicinity.
Mr Melaye was accused of collaborating with suspects arrested for kidnapping, illegal possession of arms and political thuggery in Kogi State.
The senator has, however, denied the allegations, blaming his problems on his state governor, Yahaya Bello.
He was therefore granted bail in the sum of N90 million by the court.
Our correspondent has observed that armed policemen have taken over the court as there are rumours of a plot to re-arrest the ailing senator.
This story was previously rendered reflecting N900million bail instead of N90million. Error regretted.
