A retired chief magistrate in Kano, Muntari Dandago, has denied claims by a popular aphrodisiac vendor and actress, Sadiya Haruna, that he regularly visited her house to eat and sleep.

He said the claim was an attempt to blackmail and defame his hard-earned reputation.

In February 2022, when Mr Dandago was the presiding magistrate, he sentenced Ms Haruna to six months in prison without the option of a fine for defaming her ex-husband, Isa Isa.

But appearing in a celebrity talk show, Gabon’s Room Talk Show, hosted by Kannywood actress Hadiza Gabon, the self acclaimed sex therapist said Mr Dandago betrayed her by sending her to prison despite being friends with him.

“The irony is that the judge who sent me to prison usually comes to my house. We would sit together, gist, eat… And sometimes he even slept in my house. But at the end of the day, this is what happened. Ethically, he should not have sat in the case.

“I feel betrayed because I never expected such treatment from him,” she said.

Contacted for response, Mr Dandago told DAILY NIGERIAN that the allegations were baseless, adding that it was one of the prices judicial officers pay in the course of their duty.

“You see, this is part of the challenges we face as judicial officers, People seek to intimidate you through blackmail, thinking you will bow to their antics.

“This is not the first time she made this kind of baseless claim.

“Even when the case was ongoing, she said the worst, you can go and verify. But I don’t care. I know I handled the case with utmost professionalism.

“I’m grateful I served the judiciary for 35 years with an unblemished record of service.

“So if she thinks because she’s a celebrity she would do whatever she feels like, I wish her luck, but I can’t bring myself down to her level. You see how irresponsible she has been on social media, I pray God delivers her anyway,” he said.

Speaking on her experience in prison, the aphrodisiac seller said: “When the judge made the pronouncement, I thought that would be the end of the world for me. I was so devastated and depressed. But I accept it in good faith.”

On her marriage with a celebrity Tiktoker, G-Fresh Al-Amin, she said the union hit the rock prematurely because he could not abide by the terms they agreed on before the marriage.

She also alleged that the TikTok star was impotent and unable to meet his marital responsibilities.

“When the issue of marriage arose, he didn’t even have a house where we would live. But I was already in a house that I pay N1 million annual rent.

“And since I have faced a lot of betrayals, I decided that whatever I’m going to do, I will engage lawyers.

“So I told him clearly that before the marriage, I would give him some terms. And he gladly accepted,” she disclosed.

According to her, the conditions included desisting from any form of fornication, a contribution of N500,000 for house rent, non-interference of third parties and HIV test.

“So after incurring all expenses for the wedding, reception, and it was time to make love, I now discovered he was impotent,” she said.
