A businessman, Bilyaminu Nuhu, on Wednesday prayed a Sharia court ll sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna, to assist him recover N27,500 from a butcher, Sani Umar.
Mr Nuhu, who resides at Rigachikun area of Kaduna told the court that he sold a cow to Umar and his father two years ago.
He said that Mr Umar’s father has paid up his half of N27,500.
Mr Nuhu added that all efforts made by him to retrieve his money failed, a situation which pushed him resort to court.
He prayed court to assist him retrieve his money.
In his defence, Mr Umar also a resident of Rigachikun area did not deny the amount owed.
He prayed court to give him time within which to pay up.
“I want this honourable court to give me five weeks within which to pay the money”, he prayed.
After listening to both sides, the Judge Musa Sa’ad – Goma, ordered the defendant to pay up or risk jail term.
The defendant immediately paid N 13,500 and promised to pay the balance.
The judge ordered the defendant to pay the outstanding in two weeks time.
