Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State had disclosed plans to retire from active politics once his tenure as governor ended in 2023.
The governor, who made the disclosure on Sunday in an interview with the Daily Trust, said he would clock 73 by the end of his tenure as a governor, hence the need for him to rest.
“I will retire. By the time I leave office, I will be 73 years and at that age, I will need to rest. I will continue at the background,” Mr Masari stated.
DAILN NIGERIAN recalls that Mr Masari was a Speaker, House of Representatives for four years and two time governor of Katsina State.
