Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Gazali Shehu-Ahmad as his Special Adviser on Strategy and Development.
In a statement on Wednesday by Ibrahim Bello-Zauma, the governor’s SSA on New Media, said Mr Gazali’s appointment falls in line with the recognition of strategy and development as one of the major areas of focus of the Matawalle’s administration.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Gazali who hails from Bungudu holds a first degree in Mathematics with Computer Science and a Master degree in Information Management both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Mr Gazali has just completed another Master degree in Development Studies and Policy Analysis.
In addition, he has a Proficiency Certificate in Management, NIM Charted, from Nigerian Institute of Management; a Certificate in Conflict Analysis from United States Institute of Peace, USIP; and a Master of Lapidary – Sustainable Management of Mineral Resource Project, SMMRP, World Bank funded, under the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, MMSD.
Mr Gazali had worked for the House of Representatives, National Assembly Abuja as a Legislative Aide where he took charge of research and analysis on matters arising in Ministry of Finance, inter-governmental affairs, and MDG’s.
He had also worked for the Nigerian Senate, National Assembly Abuja as a Research Assistant to Special Adviser to the Senate President on Research, Legislative Strategy and Documentation, Prof. Ussiju Almustapha Medarner.
Mr Gazali is the immediate past Chairman of Zamfara Circle – a pressure group with objectives towards community enlightenment & support, and promotion of good governance in Zamfara State.
Until his appointment by Governor Matawalle, Mr Gazali was an ICT Rep (State Coordination) with Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, since 2012.
He is also the Secretary General of Zamfara Strategy and Development Committee which was recently constituted by Governor Matawalle.
Mr Gazali has keen attention to details, strong ability to learn fast, good leadership skills, and sound communication skills.
