Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has assented to a Bill creating an official logo as a symbol of authority for the state government.
According to a statement on Thursday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Zailani Bappa, the law creating the official logo stipulates the regulation for its use and appropriate punishment for its abuse.
“Any official transaction of the government must bear it or the transaction is null and void,” the statement declared.
Mr Bappa also disclosed that the governor assented to three other Bills for the establishment of the Directorate for skills acquisition; amending the Zakkat Board (2013) and for the establishment of rural water supply and other matters connected therewith.
According to the statement, the amendment in the Zakkat Board includes collection, distribution and endowment of the Zakkat fund in the state.
The statement added that the law amending the Zakkat Board has now changed the status of the board from part-time to full time with one member each to be drawn from the seventeen Emirates of state each.
Similarly, according to the statement, the law establishing the Directorate for rural water supply will provide, coordinate, facilitate and maintain the supply of potable water to the rural communities of the state.
“The fourth law which is on skill acquisition will seek to train, facilitate and empower the Youth in line with the government policy of job provision for the teeming youth in the state,” the statement noted.
While assenting to the Bill, Mr Matawalle assured that his administration would continue to provide people-oriented policies and programmes towards building a new Zamfara State.
