Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has condoled with the family of the first democratically elected governor of Kaduna State, late Balarabe Musa.
Recall that Mr Musa, a Board of Trustee Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, had died on Wednesday after a brief illness at the age of 85.
Mr Matawalle, issuing a condolence message via his media aide, Zailani Bappa, described Late Musa as an astute, honest and progressive politician.
The governor said he received the news of the passing away of the elder statesman as a great shock.
According to him, the country has yet again lost another gem “whose interest did not derail from national unity and cohesion”.
“Late Balarabe Musa was a father to us, an elder statesman, a nationalist, an honest leader and a progressive politician par excellence.
“The Nation has lost a brave, courageous and fearless leader who is not afraid of saying the truth at any given time.
“Our country today needs people like late Barabe Musa to be on track. We shall surely miss him in these trying moments of our journey as a nation.
“On behalf of myself, my family, the Government and good people of Zamfara State, I extend my heartfelt condolences over the demise of this exemplary man,” Governor Matawalle further condoled.
