Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has appointed and sworn-in sole administrators for the 14 local government area of the state.
Recall that the House, in its second extra-ordinary sitting on Thursday, had dissolved the chairman following allegations of financial recklessness and improper record keeping by the LG leaderships.
Mr Matawalle, in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media, Zailani Bappa, said the appointment followed a recommendation by the Assembly, a day after stripping all the LG chairmen of their portfolios.
According to the governor, the decision to immediately abide by the recommendation of the legislature stemmed from his administration’s interest of the Zamfara people at heart.
He, therefore, called on the new chairmen to assess the security situation in their respective areas and submit their report in two weeks time.
The governor also swore-in the recently appointed state Commissioner for Science and Technology and three newly appointed Permanent Secretaries.
The Local Government Sole Administrators include: Ahmed Balarabe for Anka LG; Abu Makau for Bakura LG, Muhammad Umar for Birnin Magaji LG, Nasiru Zarumi Masama for Bukkuyum LG, Abdulazeez Ahmed for Bungudu LG; Ibrahim D Ibrahim for Gummi LG, and Sanusi Sarki for Gusau LG.
Others are: Salisu Isah Dangulbi for Maru LG, Shehu Muhammad Faru for Maradun LG, Lawali Isah Abdullahi for Kauran Namoda LG, Sani Galadima for Shinkafi LG and Abubakar Musa for Talata-Mafara LG.
The newly sworn in Commissioner is Lawal Abubakar, while the three new Permanent Secretaries are: Abubakar Jafar Maradun for Office of the Executive Governor; Garba Ahmad Gusau for Ministry of Finance and Bala Umar for Ministry of Lands.
