Maulud: Fintiri felicitates with Muslims, calls for prayers

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud celebrations and urged them to imbibe the good virtues of Prophet Muhammad.

Mr Fintiri admonished the Muslim faithful to imbibe the virtues of humility, sacrifice and sharing which the Holy Prophet demonstrated throughout his life and times.

The is contained in a statement by Humwashi Wonosikou, Press Secretary to the governor, on Tuesday in Yola.

“The occasion once again reminds us the virtues of Prophet Muhammad, which we should emulate in advancing love, peace and progress of the state and country,” Mr Fintiri was quoted as saying in the statement.

Mr Fintiri said that the virtues of service and examplary leadership as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet should guide both leaders and the led on the need to give their best in the overall interest of the country.

While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Maulud celebration, Mr Fintiri said that the challenges facing the country would better be confronted if such qualities were embibed by all.

The appreciated the people of the state for their continued peaceful mutual coexistence, tolerance and support to his administration and security agencies.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s birth to reflect on the essential lessons of his life and pray for the continued well being of the state and the country at large.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that thousands of students of Islamic schools across the state participated in a colourful rally to celebrate the Maulud.
